An English Country Garden Styled Shoot by josie photography

It’s time for some Friday prettiness folks, courtesy of the lovely Josie of josie photography. This sweet little styled shoot was inspired by the legend of Camelot, and it really does have an idyllic English country garden feeling – you can just imagine Arthur and Guinevere prancing about in these green and pleasant surroundings. But more than that, there’s some fresh inspiration for rustic brides in the real world too – gorgeous flowers in the perfect spring or summer palette, soft botanical touches, and of course a bride crowned with flowers. And hello, proteas. We just can’t get enough of them this week, it seems! :)

Some background from Josie:
The inspiration for this styled shoot is drawn from the romance of the legend of Camelot. The shoot took place along the banks of a little stream that runs through Noordhoek Common and the decor was styled at Cape Point Vineyards. Lorraine of Lol’s Flowers based her colour palette of gold, soft pinks and earthy tones of green and brown on the gold that had been meticulously hand embroidered on the wedding gown. Being a huge fan of hessian, Lorraine also wanted to incorporate that into the décor, as well as simple mason jars. She chose masses of natural garden flowers in a simple unstructured arrangement and brought in the mountains which surround Noordhoek by incorporating proteas and fynbos. Little Works Design Studio created stationery with a gorgeous floral theme, incorporating colours and fonts inspired by the theme. The use of wooden table number holders tied in with the forest setting and the thank you notes were created to match the succulents in the pots. The look they aimed for was aged, but not vintage. Helen of Helen Make-up kept the hair & make-up simple to bring out the focus on the stunning hairpiece that Lorraine had created.
