Well folks, it’s the last day of the last week of our extended beach-themed content, and it’s also Fashion Friday, so there’s really only one thing for it – beach dress bonanza! A beach wedding gown is such a special garment – it should have a mix of casual and elegant, an ease of wear but also a beautiful fit, and ideally some kind of movement, so that it photographs beautifully against the wind and the waves. Whether your style is boho, modern or classic, you’ll find at least one dress in this roundup that makes you go ‘oooh!’. You’ll find all of them over on Etsy. Links in bold denote affiliate links. The other day we brought you a whole range of beachy accessories from Etsy, but there was one I left out because I like this lil’ trend so much I thought it deserved its own roundup. Barefoot sandals are something we’ve featured in some of our real weddings, and I can’t get enough of this barely there footwear (or really, more like jewellery for feet!) trend that’s being embraced by both boho and beach brides. It’s barefoot… but prettier. All the freedom and earth childiness, but with an extra something special. From crochet to beading to bling, I found loads of lovely options – these are just 20 of my favourites. Links in bold denote affiliate links. I do love my little trawls around Etsy – it feels a little like I’m in search of buried treasure, and whenever I turn up something truly lovely, something I know you all will love, it really is like I found the pirate’s gold. That’s particularly appropriate for today’s roundup, which includes all kinds of lovely little trinkets with a touch of the sea for brides, grooms, and bridesmaids. And while too many themey things could be a little cheesy, each one of these accessories stands alone as an elegant addition to your wedding attire. So peek inside the treasure chest and see which is your favourite! Links in bold denote affiliate links. The cost to you remains the same, but SBB may receive a commission for any sales made.
When it comes to beach weddings, I’ve got to tell you, I have seen a LOT of cheesy cakes. Which is a pity, because a beach wedding definitely doesn’t have to be ‘themey’, and a cake is always such a lovely way to get creative with your setting or wedding style. I knew that over the years I had seen many gorgeous coastal cakes as well, so I went on the hunt, and tracked down 20 of them, to inspire. Whether you’re getting married on the sands, or just want to pay tribute to your love for the beach, each of these creations is a little ocean-themed work of art – and I bet they’re delicious too!
When it comes to beach weddings, there are so many gorgeous options for a bride-to-be, but what about her best girls? As you know, we love a bit of bridesmaid fashion here on SBB, especially when it involves fashionable looks that ladies can wear again after the big day. And while there are many, many ways you can go for a beach do, depending on your colour scheme, location and vibe, I’ve rounded up 10 of my absolute favourites, complete with shop-tions so you can get the look yourself! You guys know already how much I love my escort cards and place cards as a wedding detail. Yes, they’re a little indulgent, but they’re such a good opportunity to show a little creativity and delight your guests with a nod to your theme or story! That’s especially true for a beach wedding, where there are just LOADS of ideas out there, each prettier than the last. And sure, you can DIY a lot of them, but who has the time? Especially when the talented folks at Etsy have gone next level with their beach escort ideas. Just look at these 15 fabulous options and tell me you’re not convinced! I don’t know about you, but when I picture a beach wedding, the first thing that comes to mind is the ceremony. Having your feet in the sand and the ocean behind you is just the most romantic way to exchange vows, isn’t it? Well, the talented wedding pros of the world have found a way to make that picture even prettier and more romantic, and we’ve rounded up 20 of our absolute favourite ceremony style ideas for a beach wedding, each dreamier than the last. If this doesn’t convince you to head for the beach for your big day, nothing will! :)
When it comes to wedding planning, I’m a big fan of choosing a style that best reflects you and your husband- or wife-to-be before making any big decisions (see my step-by-step guide to figuring out your wedding style & colours). From venue to decor to attire, that style weaves its way through your whole day, right down to the smaller details like stationery. Smaller but definitely no less important! A good suite of paper can really bring everything together, which is another reason why its so important you pick the right one. Today I’m super stoked to introduce you to the new collection from Wedding Paper Divas. This clever invitation brand has a user friendly site that allows you to search by style, theme and colour and more, as well as plenty of cool matching details from coasters to address labels. But I especially LOVE that Wedding Paper Divas does a free sample kit option, because there’s just nothing quite like holding the actual paper in your hand to confirm you’ve made the right decision. Here are a few of my favourites from the collection, as well as all the info you need to get those samples!
These last several seasons, it has been allllll about the floral crown in wedding lala land, and I couldn’t have been happier, because flower crowns combine two of my favourites – gorgeous bridal style and fresh flowers! But this season there’s been another emerging trend – a little more subtle but no less pretty, and I am loving it. Brides have been rocking fresh flowers – in arrangements at the tuck of a chignon, as single blooms pinned behind one ear, tucked into their veil, or even woven into a braid. SO pretty. And with this being our month dedicated to secret garden prettiness, I just had to round up twenty of my faves. Now hands up, ladies – which is your fave?
We can’t let Valentine’s end without some heart shaped happiness, can we? No. No we can’t. A couple of years ago, I wrote this post highlighting all the pretty and unexpected ways you could use hearts in your wedding and it’s been a popular feature ever since, proving that this universal symbol of love is still as popular as ever for all things wedding! So this year I thought I would head over to Etsy and find some brand new heart shaped favourites and ideas and boy, did I ever! Some of these ideas are just TOO adorable! Let’s find some new faves, shall we? (Links in bold denote affiliate links. The cost to you remains the same, but SBB may receive a commission for any sales made.)
