Mismatched Bridesmaid Accessories Part 2 {Shoes}

Hello friends! Isn’t this week just the best? So thrilling to see another South African gold in the pool last night, and an absolutely brilliant one at that. Go the Chad. Just one post today, as I’m heading off to Wimbledon to watch some Olympic tennis. So exciting! I don’t know exactly what we’ll get to see live, but I know Andy Murray’s playing in the afternoon, so I’m sure the atmosphere will be amazing! But right back in Weddingville, we’re getting excited about shoes. For a change. Okay, yes, we’re always excited about shoes here, but in this case it’s shoes that reflect the mismatched bridesmaid trend we’ve been seeing in the last couple of seasons. A couple of weeks ago we spoke about one type of lovely mismatched accessory (flowers) and today it’s all about letting your BMs’ feet do the talking. Get ready to say “shoe-wa-wa!” You could try:

Same shoe type, different colours

Different shoes, same colour

Love these pretty metallics – note how in the top pic the bride’s shoes still make a statement alongside her stylish bridesmaids. (Sources: Top – Scarlett & Stephen via Bridal Guide; Bottom – Loluma/Corbin Gurkin Photography via Style Me Pretty)

Wedding colours

All of these clever brides used their BMs’ shoes to reflect their full colour scheme – my favourite is row 2! This is quite a daring look, but I love its playfulness. (Sources: Row 1 – Paige Newton Photography via Green Wedding Shoes; Row 2 – Red Gecko Studio; Row 3 left – The Schultzes via Inspired by This; Row 3 right – Erin Ever After/Corbin Gurkin via Once Wed)

Brights with black or white dresses

This look has really been gathering speed, and I have to say, I think it’s adorable! Aim to use either the same shoe in different colours, or similar ones in terms of general height and style (e.g. all peep toe). Freestyle

This look probably shouldn’t work. Daring (but gorgeous!) dresses, and a huge array of different shoe styles (although colours are kept neutral). But you know what, it totally does. Ideal for a bride who can trust her maids to be super chic. (Source: Poetic License/D’Avello Photography via Wedding Chicks)
