Real Life Bride #2: The Inspiration

One of the things I drool over as a wedding photographer is the detail at a wedding, I get lost in photographing all the little bits and pieces of gorgeousness from the amazing flowers to the beautiful décor and creative favours. My heart sings happy songs when the bride and groom have made extra effort to include prettiness in their wedding and of course it also makes for great photos!

So of course with planning my own wedding, I have been lucky enough to gather all these bits of inspiration first hand and make a mental note of what I would like to have on my special day. Of course there is also the super amazing Pinterest, which I seem to be planning our entire wedding by! I just LOVE this inspiration website! Whenever I log on I always see something that catches my eye and wham!, it’s already pinned to my wedding mood board! (Hurrah!)

The style of our wedding is a mixture of vintage and shabby chic with the colour scheme being made up of soft colours, namely pastel pink, blue and green and taupe. As I like to be slightly different, each of my four bridesmaids will be dressed in one of these colours. :) I also have in mind to be roping my lovely bridesmaids into a bit of DIY to make some of the pretty décor I see gracing wedding magazine pages or once again my beloved Pinterest! I like a hands on approach and think it makes things that much more special when you can get everyone involved. The fabulous ‘Doodles’ will be supplying our main décor but I will touch on them more in another post!

I want LOTS of detail and as we are having a garden ceremony I have visions of prettiness hanging in the trees and in the evening lots of fairy lights to make it magical! As our wedding will take place in March the warm evening will also be perfect for an outdoor dance floor, so that is also on the cards! Of course there will be some bunting used as I love this idea and really want to create a relaxed and fun vibe for our guests.

The below mood board should help you to get some sort of idea of the type of style and look we are going for. Enjoy all the prettiness, I certainly am!
