Real Life Bride #6: The Decor

This is a post that really excites me as I am a bit of a detail fiend and love prettiness all around!

I enjoy detail at a wedding and how it creates a feast for the eyes so of course I want lots of pretty bits and pieces telling a story at our wedding. I am very blessed to know the ladies at Doodles on a personal basis and therefore can’t think of anyone better to get to do our décor. :) I love their laser cutting and have photographed many a wedding where Doodles have been part of the lovely displays!

From my previous moodboard you should get a general idea of the type of décor we are going for but to sum it up there will be a display on lighting, as I really love how this can totally set an ambient mood, and therefore will have chinese lanterns strung up along with fairy lights in the trees and above the outdoor dance floor. I am also enjoying reading up and getting ideas from the wonderful wedding blogs out there (just like Cap  Classique!) and my bridesmaids and I are getting together soon for a cheese and wine date and some DIY details to add to the wedding. Think photo booth props, personalised labels, favour boxes, etc!

I love bunting so there will be some of this displayed by our outdoor photo booth and then vintage/shabby chic displays on the table and little signs on our sweet table to round things off perfectly! I am hoping to create a cosy corner where people can relax on a couch and drink their wine by candlelight on the deck and have fairy lights hanging around this area too. The flowers which will be part of the décor will be a mixture of fynbos and some soft roses and of course my favourite, king proteas. The colours are fresh ice cream colours so I want to carry these throughout.

After the wedding you will be able to see all our ideas come together but for now I will leave you with this culmination of thoughts to envision our wedding décor!
