Woohoo! Holly holly holiday! How I do love a few days off. Hope whatever you’re doing, that you have a brilliant one. And here to continue the festivities, is the third wedding for this week (and it’s a city wedding, which I always love!). Celeste and Aiden chose to have a super slick modern soiree in classic black and white at St George’s Cathedral in Cape Town and Mowbray Golf Club. Think black glass, silver plates, a touch of damask. Bridesmaids in elegant black dresses and a gorgeous orchid bouquet. All you need is Frankie Sinatra crooning That’s Life in the corner and you have a swingin’ celebration any hipster would be proud of. Which shouldn’t be a surprise, really, since Aiden happens to be the creative director at GQ South Africa. Celeste is a doctor. Talk about a power couple! Aiden sent over some background on their big day:
Our concept was a classic black and white, intimate and fun wedding consisting of 130 guests. The ceremony was held at the scenic St George’s Cathedral followed by the reception at Mowbray Golf Club. Due to time constraints, three locations were chosen for photography, and due to weather, a photo booth was set up. On the day, everything went smoothly, everyone had loads of fun, and it’s still being talked about!

Details… Before getting married, Celeste and I had been together for seven years, so we chose to tell our story in a picture book invitation. On the day, we hired a limousine for the bridal party, stocked with champagne (was the most fun ever!). Our seating plan was printed and framed in old frames (to match our theme) and we have these up in our home now. 

My advice is to always have a Plan B for everything. Also, keep a snack basket close by!
