Real Wedding at Vrede en Lust {Clare & Andrew}

It’s Friday, Friday, ge’in down on Friday… well, maybe not, but it is Friday. It’s been a bit week for me, and I can’t think of a better way to end it off than with this beautiful wedding from the Aleit Group. All you brides looking for something soft and slightly vintage? You are going to LOVE this! Clare and Andrew were married at one of my favourite venues (Vrede en Lust – check out our feature here), and complemented the sunny weather and spectacular views with quirky vintage touches that really made their guests feel at home. Everything about this wedding is so classic, and yet it has a really fun feeling to it – I have a feeling this is going to end up on lots of your bookmarks! Oh, and look out for a Grade A for Adorable escort card table using sweet postage detailing and old suitcases. Love it! Pictures are by the spectacular Sybrand Cillie – check out more on his blog here. Happy weekend everyone, and we have a jam packed week next week for you, so see you back here on Monday!

 Andrew and Clare are both doctors, so since they had more important things to do (um, saving lives!), they didn’t have the chance to answer my usual questions. But no worries, co-ordinator Johnny from Aleit sent over some insight into their lovely day instead:
Clare and Andrew are both young doctors and met within the medical profession. Apparently it was all love at first sight for Andrew, as he stated in his magnificent speech to his lovely bride. This down to earth and relaxed couple just wanted a special and unpretentious wedding – a day on which they could enjoy the warm South African climate over numerous glasses of sparkling wine with their international guests. And a warm day it was at Vrede en Lust, temperatures rose to 46 degrees! Ice cold Pimms was a definite hit and it wasn’t five minutes after pre-dinner drinks started when all the guests had their feet in the pool. The scorching heat did not scare anybody as none of the guests left the dance floor for a second. The swing band, Sticky Triggers, did a wonderful job keeping the guests entertained. Clare and Andrew described the day as a dream come true and they couldn’t asked for anything else, “it was perfect”.
