Stroopsoet Photography is where Stroopsoet memories are made by the heart. We are not only totally in love with each other but with our job, or let us rather say, our calling. We love to capture memories spontaneously with a creative, timeless flair. We get to be part of beautiful celebrations of love that can never be captured again and that is beyond awesome.
MORE ABOUT ME
Where are you based and what areas do you cover?
In Pretoria East but we cover weddings all over SA. We are addicted to creative weddings!
How did you get started in weddings?
I started with a blog and a Facebook page and got my first wedding after my second shoot I uploaded on the blog. I could not believe it. Everything was down hill from there on. We are blessed with so many special weddings and shoots. My husband, Carel, is a videographer and we love to work together as a Stroopsoet/Yellow team. Stroopsoet Photography is the photography section and It’s All Yellow is the videography section.
What inspires you?
Music and travelling inspires us both. I have a background in music as well so I would definitely say that is our biggest inspiration. We love to go on impulsive roadtrips in our Landy and explore new places. I get my best inspiration in our Landy driving past unbelievable landscapes while listening to music.
Favourite place in South Africa?
Besides the obvious answer, Cape Town, which we absolutely adore, we also love the little town McGregor in the Western Cape. We would love to live there one day when we are grandma and grandpa. We love Johannesburg city as well. On an ‘off’ day we love to visit the city to do some street photography.
What advice would you give to brides and grooms?
To be yourself. It is your wedding day, not your friends’ or your family’s wedding day. Make your wedding about you two, your passions and what you love about life. Do not try to impress your guests with gimmicks but rather try to inspire them with the love you have for each other. If you do that, everyone will remember your wedding. You can give our ‘No more blue Mondays’ a read, for we got married on a Monday and this is why…
