Most couples meet, fall in love, and if they’re lucky, end up at the altar. But for today’s fun couple, the altar was where it started! That’s where Keristena met Daniel, it’s where he proposed, and of course it’s where they declared their undying, on a beautiful spring day in the Natal Midlands. Which is something to celebrate, and celebrate they did, in a carnival-inspired reception. Coloured candy floss, popcorn, live music and a photobooth were all part of ‘carnival hour’ as they renamed their cocktail hour, and then moved on to a receptio decked out in the perfect pastel palette of coral, mint and serenity blue (complete with matching blooms!). SO FUN! African Bear Photography were on the scene to capture it all!
I thought it was high time for another DIY roundup, and of course with spring pastels on the brain, I just had to go a-looking for some pastelly loveliness for you all to add to your wedding To Do list. From table decor to bridesmaids gifts, I’ve found 15 seriously cute ideas in sorbet shades that would really brighten up any celebration, or add that extra little somethin-somethin to a pastel themed Big Day. My absolute fave is those candyfloss sodas (above) – anyone serving those at cocktail hour would immediately have me over the moon as a guest. So fun! Which is your favourite? Remember – even if pastels aren’t your thing, you can totally adapt any of these to suit a different colour scheme, so go ahead and be inspired!Read More
Happy Friday friends! Can you believe we’re almost at the end of January? I refuse to start looking ahead to autumn though (not quite yet, anyway!), and today’s styled shoot is absolutely perfect for keeping that spring/summer vibe alive. With a mix of watercolour detailing (including a beautiful ombre dress!), sparkly gold and pops of poppy poppiness, it’s absolutely perfect for a romantic beach wedding. Davene Prinsloo and her team were on the scene to capture every detail and make each one count.Read More
I just love when I get to feature weddings that combine the talents of wedding pros who I have come to know and admire through my years as a blogger – it always gives me such pleasure to see brides put themselves in their hands and come out with beautiful results! Today’s wedding features three of my favourite names – Rensche Mari, one of our most talented photographers; Netherwood, an absolutely gorgeous venue that I have visited in person; and the very lovely Ché of indieberries and indielovebooks. So needless to say, Leanie and Theuns have excellent taste! As always, my favourite part is the details that tell their story, and their travel theme does just that – be sure to read all about Theuns’ totally original mile high proposal!Read More
