Inspiration Board: Bahama Black Tie

Well guys, as you read this, I’ll be arriving in the Bahamas for a SUPER exciting press trip and corporate retreat hosted by Aisle Society and Sandals Royal Bahamian. I’ve always yearned to visit the Caribbean and I can’t quite believe I get to do it this week, and with some of my favourite bloggers and fellow girlbosses too. Dream. Come. True. Needless to say, you’ll be hearing all about it, but do follow along on Insta for some fun behind the scenes. The timing is also pretty perfect blogwise, because today we’re kicking off our latest month of themed content – SBB is going tropical! I have such lovely content lined up for you beach and tropical brides, but I had to start it all off with a beautiful inspiration board. I just love the look of tropical botanics, gold and Kate Spade-style dots and monochrome prints – a sophisticated twist on this fun theme. And of course, the cheeky pineapple is the perfect motif to complement that.

Inspiration Board: Tropical Elegance

Happy Monday, lovelies! When I was thinking about inspiration boards for travel month, I went through a bunch of different ideas (I have some destination-tastic boards that I’m dying to put together!) But in the end, I decided it was a great opportunity to showcase a few general travel-related themes that were very fresh and beautiful. I’m starting off with this one, because I LOVE everything tropical (seriously, if this board were a house, I’d move right in) and as it happens, tropical style is very trendworthy at the moment both in weddings and in interiors, fashion, etc. And not just because we love pineapples (although we do love pineapples). There are lots of great ways to do tropical, but my favourite is to go for simple luxe, and a palette of lush green, natural browns, white and gold. Details like mini pineapples, calligraphed leaves, and coconut cocktails sit perfectly alongside the classics – fine linen, crystal and crockery – a look that’s much more governer’s mansion than tiki lounge.

Inspiration Board: Tropical Blush

Pineapples are everywhere at the moment (yay!) and I’ve been wanting to do a pineapple-themed board for a while. Which might sound weird, because wouldn’t a pineapple-themed wedding be all Carmen Miranda? But no, in fact, we’re talking pineapples as a motif rather than a theme, and we’re loving how they add a touch of the tropics while still being an elegant and interesting form. Basically, they’re cool, we love them, and mixed with the softest blush and some proteas (complementary shapes and all), you get a totally romantic wedding design. (Oh and PS, to see a gorgeous real wedding on SBB inlcluding a few pineapples on the tables, see here).
