Can you think of anything more romantic than an elopement in the woods? Nope, neither can I. Which is why I can’t wait to share this absolutely gorgeous styled shoot from Lad & Lass Photography, Bouwer Flowers & Hey Pioneer, and their team. And if you loved the boho forest goodness in our real wedding this morning, then you are going to luuuurve what we have in store. Macrame ceremony arch. Stylishly rustic tablescape. A boho lace dress,  a groom in bold Marsala, fresh from the forest florals, a to-die-for chocolate naked cake… I could go on and on. But I think my absolute favourite is the bell tent set up (complete with whimsical floral entrance) for the bride and groom, to give their first night as Mr and Mrs that woodsy glamping feel. So… how much do we all want to have a forest elopement right now?

Debra of Bouwer Flowers sent over this beautiful description of their inspiration:
The idea for this shoot was born out of a love for the outdoors, and celebrations that take place around campfires, beneath leafy canopies and in the dying light of day between the trunks of trees. Our vision was to combine the best of camping comforts with an intimate elopement story – two young lovers promising themselves to each other in the woods.

The colour palette was inspired by the natural surrounds and we leaned towards textured elements of linen, wood and lace and shades of cream, green, dark brown and pops of Marsala. Together with fresh flowers, we worked dried lotus pods and found objects like mossy logs and cones into the table setting. The bride wore a delicate lace dress with a beautiful scalloped cut out at the back and the groom wore a burgundy blazer perfectly matching the bride’s bold lip and the rich florals. Instead of traditional jewellery, we chose feathered earrings sourced by White Lilly Bridal and a wedding ring and bridal crown made of miniature daisy blossoms. The bell tent, made from a natural cotton canvas, was styled as a simple but romantic bridal suite. The entrance was decorated with a floral garland, and the interior furnishings included a luxurious bed, cotton percale linen, vintage rugs and oil burning lanterns; reminiscent of a more traditional style of camping, but adapted to suit the modern bohemian bride and bring an element of glamour to this very rustic setting. What made this shoot really special was the handcrafted and unique details – bell tents imported from Belgium, a macrame weave made by one of the supplier’s mothers (and couriered across the country), vintage cutlery and glassware. The resulting look was an eclectic one, a juxtaposition of elements of luxury against a rustic forest backdrop. As Jade of Wildflour said: “When you imagine a woodland style wedding, that exact picture was brought to life!”
