WHY WE LOVE IT
Crystal Barn is that rare bird in the wedding world: a venue as unique as it is beautiful. No cookie cutter décor here – instead you’ll find a theatrical mix of colours, textures and architectural details in and around the converted barn: vintage French country furniture, corrugated iron walls, Indian palace doors, intricately carved columns and windows. The mix is elegant and enchanting, like a colourful slice of Best Exotic Marigold Hotel magic in amongst the peaceful tranquillity of the Natal Midlands. There’s a quirky on-site chapel, complete with a Victorian spiral staircase, and a welcoming reception area (all linked undercover, in case of bad weather), with long tables made of recycled timber and raw metal Parisian chairs beneath the crystal chandeliers. Run by a chef and professional wedding co-ordinator, the venue offers a personalised service to all its couples, including several options for pre-wedding festivities to get the party started.
