A country wedding is as much about a warm welcome as it is about rustic chic décor, and at Cranford Country Lodge, nestled in the heart of the rolling green hills of Kwazulu Natal’s Midlands Meander, you’ll find both. The family-run wedding venue, set on a tranquil stud farm where mottled Appalooosas graze alongside ancient oaks, prides itself on its cheerful atmosphere, enchanting landscapes and graceful country décor. After a ceremony in the open thatch and stone chapel and pre-reception drinks overlooking the trout dam, couples can choose to host their reception in either a rustic barn with open rafters, stone arches and fireplaces, or in the elegant Great Room, a more contemporary ‘blank canvas’ space. And with accommodation available both on-site and in the area’s many cosy B&Bs, it’s the perfect place to get away for a peaceful weekend wedding.
