Oh hello, beautiful! I have such a lovely styled shoot to share with you all this morning, inspired by the colours and romance of Morocco. I’m a big fan of Moroccan-style decor (see our full feature on Moroccan wedding style here) – it’s such a great theme for bringing colour and texture to your wedding design but in a sophisticated, cosmopolitan way and Moroccan decor is also relatively easy to get hold of. So of course I was thrilled when the team from TopVendor Wedding Awards got in touch to share this gorgeous boho styled shoot. TWA was created to recognise the talented service providers in the growing South African wedding industry, and today’s shoot features some of our favourites, including awesome photographer Vivid Blue and decor and planning specialists Flamboijant. I’m more than a little obsessed with the bougainvillaea bouquet – how pretty is that? – as well as the other beautiful flowers including pincushion proteas and the pancake wedding cake. And how stunning are the models’ boho styles created by the awesome Corlé Barnard? There’s so much creativity in this industry and in this country – thanks so much for promoting it and for sharing this today, TWA ladies!
Here’s a bit of background from Stephni of TWA on the shoot…
When you Google ‘bohemian style weddings’, you get loads of answers, but what stood out and what we tried to implement was the scenery, the background and the environment of this shoot. At the foot of the Langeberg mountains lies Montagne Deli and wedding venue – our initial idea was to shoot at the venue itself but when owner Karla told us about the waterfall we knew we couldn’t pass up this opportunity. We wanted to add a bit of a Moroccan feel to the table, and loved working with bougainvillea, a flower trend that I think will come back again soon. Montagne Deli is part of La Montanara Cheese Factory and they supplied the large cheese heads for the shoot. Aladdin’s Cave in Cape Town lent us the lanterns and tea glasses – if you’re having a Moroccan theme wedding or party they are the people to contact. Red Velvet Design was brilliant with the stationery and it fit the table and theme perfectly. Corle Barnard was amazing with her make-up and hair – the braid on Christeen’s hair was the best I’ve ever seen a hairstylist do in South Africa! Andre from Vivid Blue Photography was so patient and really captured what we wanted to achieve.
