Oh my word, you guys, I am knackered. I’m sitting here on my couch yawning away, even after a good night’s sleep after our Editorial Wedding workshop. That’s what you get for pulling together a workshop in a month, right? But it was so fantastic – such a pleasure to spend the day talking weddings and blogs and magazines with a group of lovely people and talented photographers, not to mention the most gaaawjus styled shoot set up by Louise of b.loved. It’s pretty terrifying to try something brand new, but it couldn’t have gone better. Anyway, so I am getting back into the swing of the blog schedule with the most beautiful wedding, captured to perfection by Vivid Blue Photography. Wow, this bride must be one of the most stunning I have ever featured, and Hawksmoor is such an amazingly striking venue – with her dashing groom and classy, colourful decor it all looks like something out of Vogue or Vanity Fair. Not to mention Alet’s protea bouquet, which I am totally dying over! I’m pretty sure my brain’s still not working well enough to give you a better description, so I’ll let the pictures speak louder than words!
From lovely bride, Alet:
We chose Hawksmoor House for its character (it’s 300+ years old!) and wanted to keep the decor simple and natural, but injected some colour and a sense of playfulness to make it more personal. My close family and I made the table numbers, using old photo frames and vintage print with a random selection of house numbers. We then asked the guests at each table to write a short message on the print, so Jacques and I can display the frames in our home and be surrounded by and reminded of their good wishes all the time. :) Another idea that we loved was our lavender scented teacup candles that were scattered all over the tables. This created such a lovely romantic atmosphere, and also served as a great wedding favour to our female guests.
My advice to future brides and grooms would be to have some private time together on the day – it goes so fast, and you should really take some time to take it all in, and remember what the fuss is really all about!
Thanks so much, Alet and Jacques – I have really been looking forward to this one! And of course, big thanks to the awesome Andre of Vivid Blue. Check out his full blog post here.
