There are a lot of reasons I love today’s wedding, but can we just start by talking about THAT DRESS? Holy moly, it’s a showstopper. I have no idea if bride, Claire, started with the gown or matched it into her vision, but for me, it’s the centrepiece of the whole understated, feminine but also very modern elegance of the whole day. Everything from lush white blooms in ornate vases on the tables to the whimsical floral chandelier, to the clean, calming neutral palette (with just a touch of lavender from the bridesmaids) complements Claire’s look (a gorgeous job by Just Jack, by the way). She dances through her big day like a ballerina, through the vows exchanged with her fabulous kilt-sporting Scottish groom, to the cocktail hour with tables piled high with cheese and antipasti and guests full of love and well-wishes, and right on to the cafe light-lit dancefloor. An all-lily bouquet is the perfect, structured accessory for the ruffled rosette skirt. If I ever saw a bride ‘wear’ her whole wedding, it’s this one. And if I ever knew a photographer who would do this lovely celebration justice, it’s Lauren Kriedemann. Enjoy every one of these lovely pics!

The Wedding in 3 Words
Amazing, unforgettable, legendary! Otherwise known as ‘The Perfect Day’ :)
Wedding Style
A clean yet romantic look and feel to bring the venue alive with soft white, ivory and neutral tones brought forward with beautiful floral touches, wooden accents and elements of clay adorning the tables.
The Venue
The weather was taunting us a bit on the wedding day – threatening to rain. This meant that Plan B had to be put into action, and the ceremony ended up being in the beautiful NG Church in Franschhoek. And to be honest, it was a blessing in disguise the way it worked out! In the end it turned out to be so hot that being inside the church instead of out in the sun was the best thing. With that in mind the bridal couple got the best of both worlds – still being able to have the pre-drinks in the area where we had meant to have the ceremony, which by that stage was in the shade. How perfect could it be?
Wedding Details
The wedding was a celebration to be enjoyed with close family and friends. In this sense, the bride and groom’s personalities really connected. Not to mention that the boys were dressed in traditional Scottish attire to bring the groom’s heritage into the wedding celebration.
DIY Elements
A friend baked some biscotti that was given to each guest as a prezzie on the tables.
The Flowers
Delicate white floral detail made up of million star, lilies and other ivory floral elements.
The Dress
Oh my word, how gorgeous, it is something so completely different but fit the bride like a glove – suiting both her personality and her natural beauty.
Memorable Moments
Claire’s walk down the aisle would definitely be one of the moments everyone present treasured – so much emotion! From our side we had so much fun with the whole wedding as the guests and the couple were just amazing! The whole thing was an experience. Claire and James’ family and friends are a very close group of people, and there was loads of emotion throughout the day, but in a positive way. With some great vibes going on on the dance floor – it was absolutely packed! What a night! :)
Advice for Future Brides & Grooms
Claire was one of the most relaxed brides ever. Entrusting that her co-ordinator and florist would choose the best possible options for her, she was not one to fuss about the smallest of details, but rather focused on the big picture and knew the smaller bits would fall into place. Of course the bride still wants her day to be beautiful, but that is why you have professionals within the industry to assist you with putting together your dream day. Plan well and entrust the execution will be flawless with industry friends by your side. Planners are an absolute necessity! :) Also, always remember that if you have Plan B in place, you will probably not have to use it anyway.
