We’re stepping into the leafy shade of today’s wedding, with its cool green and grey hues, classic design, and elegant natural vibe. Roxanne and Jeac are the couple in question, and they were married at the Italian-inspired Green Leaves Country Lodge, surrounded by their nearest and dearest, as well as the beautiful Hartebeespoort mountains. And while the details are lovely, the real focus for this pair was on their ceremony. As photographer Werner J explains it: “the ceremony was one to never forget, as the chapel was filled with Roxanne and Jeac’s loving spirits, and guests witnessing their love could not help but shed a tear or two!” Aww!
We were introduced by my dad at my 19th birthday.
Jeac proposed at the Farm Inn, where we had our first Valentine’s Day. He set up a romantic dinner in the bushveld with red roses and champagne, after a private game drive.
Jeac chose our location as he had been to a wedding there before and loved the venue.
We both wanted a beautiful but minimalist theme, so we chose charcoal greys, sage greens and white as our colours, with accents of silver on the tables. We had loads of candles and twinkle lights.
We did most of the flowers for the main table ourselves as we wanted to be hands-on as much as we could.
We were very lucky with our flowers, as we found an incredible florist, The Flower Market at Red’s Mall. She was really awesome and helped us with our pure white flower arrangements with penny gum.
Classic but minimalist.
My favourite part was seeing his face when I walked into the church. I think one of his favourites was the buffet and the kuier afterwards!
Proudly South African Details
We tried to include this aspect in the food, so we had pampoen koekies and so on.
Advice for Future Brides & Grooms
Focus on what’s important. The details do not matter, it’s the man you marry. The ceremony was the most important part of the day to us, to stand before God and become a family.
