I’ve been looking forward to this for a while – pretty much since the celestial themed wedding trend started to grow. I don’t know about you, but the night sky is one of the most romantic things to me, and one of life’s greatest pleasures, and it’s been inspiring poets and lovers for centuries. Bringing that into your wedding… well, it’s just lovely. Whimsical, ethereal, magical, and a great tie in to update travel themed weddings or for those of you who love astronomy, stargazing, science… or just feel like you want your wedding to have an epic, otherworldly feel (after all, you love your bae to the moon and back, right?) Here are ten star themed wedding details you can add to your wedding that will have your guests truly over the moon! *Links in bold denote affiliate links. I am beyond excited to share this stunningly beautiful styled shoot with you all today! Celestial weddings are one of 2018’s biggest trends, but although I’ve seen it done well, I’ve never seen fine art wedding style and astronomical themes come together in such a beautiful way until I came across this gorgeous editorial by Kiss from Fleur, Cornelia Lietz and their team. Everything from the table styling to the hair and makeup to the stationery is dreamy and ethereal, with just a touch of moody and I adore the little details: a cake that looks like it’s been dusted with stars, star map place settings, sparkly gowns, and even a crescent moon backdrop. So very inspiring!

Inspiration Board: Stars to Guide Us Home

Morning lovely ones – as I mentioned last week, for our travel-themed wedding month, I wanted to create a few boards that had fresh twists on the idea of travel and journeys. Last week, we got all tropical, and today I wanted to get a bit nautical (but nice, haha). I’ve always found the idea of sailors being guided home by the stars to be super romantic, so I’ve combined a vintage nautical and celestial motifs, and I have to tell you, I LOVE it. Not only are these themes compatible from a concept perspective – they’re a perfect fit from a design angle too, especially if you love navy as much as I do!
