When some of our favourite wedding talents join forces (in this case the fabulous Cara of Mosaic Wedding Company, along with Botanica Flowers and photographers Lad & Lass), there’s just no telling how gorgeous a wedding will be. And in the case of Shanta and Gareth, VERY. When I saw this adorable couple’s modern, romantic, heartfelt, and (quite obviously from the pictures) super fun day, there were all the oohs and aahs. The bouquet, the tables, Shanta’s gorgeous dress, the blushing bridesmaids, the floral arch, the portraits, the semi-naked cake… it’s pretty at every turn! And as I mentioned, it looks like a blast. Having read the dynamic couple’s story, another thing I absolutely loved is the way they brought their families and traditions together throughout the day, and really made it all their own. Let’s take a peek!

Magical Midsummer Vineyard Wedding at Molenvliet by Mosaic Weddings & Shanna Jones
You know, I might have been doing this wedding blogging gig for a while (and thousands of brides might have stopped in for inspiration along their journey) but I still get such a thrill when a bride tells me that SBB has been a big part of her planning experience from day one. And when the end result is as heart-stoppingly GORGEOUS as Sandrine & Sam’s wedding? Well, that’s one giant compliment! Everything about this celebration makes my heart sing, not least the reception in the midst of the Molenvliet vines, the incredibly lush florals, and hello – Sandrine’s incredible wedding gown! Serious. Wow. Factor. The couple, together with their superstar planner, Cara of Mosaic Weddings, took A Midsummer Night’s Dream as their inspiration and translated it into a day that manages to be romantic and elegant and utterly magical, with fairy lights everywhere and personal touches, and peeks of floral print complementing those beautiful blooms. Basically, perfection. Shanna Jones took these wonderful pics!
Elegant Country Blues Wedding at Le Franschhoek by Adene Photography
Nothing makes my wedding blogger heart light up like an elegant day full of lush blooms, gorgeous colour and a couple who are crazy in love. Today we’re talking soft shades of hydrangea blue paired with an elegant winelands setting, sweet details and some of our absolute favourite service providers like Botanica Flowers, The Mosaic Wedding Company and Adene Photography, and I love it! Kerry and Tom were married on their six year wedding anniversary at the spectacular Le Franschhoek, having planned their wedding from the UK with the help of Kerry’s mom and Cara from Mosaic. Kerry wore a beautiful Robyn Roberts lace sleeve gown, and carried a bouquet that included succulents alongside soft blue and white flowers. With a classical duo playing her down the aisle, afternoon shadows falling through the leaves as friends and family offered their congratulations, and fairy lights twinkling gently long into the night, it was the perfect day.
Rainbow Rustic
Hello lovelies – how has your Tuesday been going so far? Mine didn’t get off to an ideal start, but never mind that, because we have such a lovely styled shoot to brighten things up this afternoon. And I’m particularly excited about this one, in that it was created especially for us by an awesome team from the Nuptial Network, using some of the beautiful stationery from the SBB Collection at Invitation Gallery. I’ve loved seeing rainbow brights make their way into weddings in the last couple of years, and while this isn’t strictly a rainbow-themed affair, it’s colourful and rustic and a look that is really easy to recreate. I love it for a summer farm wedding, for example. The basic details are budget friendly – glass jars with different coloured flowers, fruit used for its natural hues (I really love how natural colour makes a table pop) and, of course, the stationery. This particular suite (Will We Have Rainbows by Mister and Missis) is one of my faves – it has such a fun, playful carnival vibe, and it also works perfectly with the neon trend that is going on at the moment (without looking like someone threw up 1992). I hope you’ll all be as inspired as I am by it – come back this evening and I’ll have a bit of a style guide for you if you want to recreate this yourself. But for now, let’s get colourful! Huge thanks to photographer Abigail K., co-ordinator Mosaic Wedding Company and the rest of the Nuptial Network team (full credits at the end).Read More
Beach Blush
This afternoon I’m sharing some styled shoot inspiration, courtesy of Joanne Markland and The Mosaic Wedding Company, with a team of talented colleagues from the Nuptian Network of Associated Wedding Specialists. I love seeing industry peeps pulling together, and it’s been a real pleasure to see more styled shoots coming out of South Africa this last season – they’re such a great way to generate ideas and beautiful, inspiring, editorial imagery! This look is particularly do-able, and is the perfect look for a bride who’s having a laid back beach wedding but still wants a classic, romantic look. Simple, lush single blooms combine with natural textures like shells and white stones, with a touch of aqua blue glass from vintage bottles. There’s also a touch of fun with stripey blue straws, cute little cupcakes and the general palette of pink and aqua (which you can amp up or down depending on where on the fun/classic scale you prefer to lie). Add a swishy dress, and you’re set!Read More
