‘Your day, your way’ has pretty much always been our mantra around here, because if a wedding doesn’t reflect the two people it celebrates, what will? Today’s special couple, Francois and Taryn, totally got that. They dreamed up a day that perfectly encapsulated their chic, modern style with its clean monochrome palette (along with touches of greenery and copper, so pretty!), geometric details, and general feeling of light and space (thanks in no small part to their fab venue, White Light). But while the look is very contemporary and stylish, the vibe is full of fun! From the skateboard-riding groom to the bride positively overflowing with happiness, the talented Daniel West has captured a real spirit of joie de vivre in these images, and I LOVE it.

What do you get when you pair simple, modern style with a touch of classic wedding formality and a dabble of rustic charm? Talia and Tiaan’s big day, that’s what! These sweethearts tied the knot at White Light, one of our fave venues, and really brought their shared love of ‘less is more’ into their wedding style, which was no-fuss without being boring and low-key while still being romantic and grand. Not an easy line to walk, but these two did it perfectly. Talia wore a spectacular Jeannelle l’Amour gown, and Tiaan and dashing Hugo Boss suit, and the awesome Carla Adel captured every second of the day from behind the lens. Modern Romantic Wedding at White Light by Grace Studios Photography

Light, bright, beautiful. That’s just three of the words that come to mind when I look at today’s wedding, which is like a modern meets classic meets botanical wonderland. From gorgeous bride Lauren’s getting ready images, through the greenhouse-style ceremony, to the incredible portraits, to the reception decor which made the most of a blank slate space and prettied it up to perfection, on to a sparkler-lit first dance, every one of Grace Studios‘ images of Juan-Pierre & Lauren’s wedding is gasp-worthy! There’s so much attention to detail – from the bridesmaids’ black-tie style gowns, to the wax-sealed invitations, to the lush florals, I want to pin every picture! The Forum White Light was the absolute PERFECT venue for this wedding – its classic but modern dimensions and clean lines showed off the couple’s vision and I’m still dying over how wonderful and unusual that chapel is! As I say: light, bright… and absolutely beautiful.

Have I ever mentioned that I love proteas? Yep, I know, about a hundred times. But I bloody LOVE proteas. Set against a crisp white background and filled with the most gorgeous Kings and Blushing Brides, this contemporary classic wedding captured by As Sweet As Images has SBB written all over it. From the glasshouse ceremony at dream venue White Light, to the beautiful reception filled with blooms, to the actual blushing bride in her lace illusion neckline gown, smiling at her new husband, Ash & Andrew’s big day is the kind of celebration that hits my wedding sweet spot and has me oohing over every frame, not to mention falling in love with South Africa’s favourite flowers all over again.
