Opulent Pastel Wedding at Webersburg by Warren Williams {Vabakshnee & Geoff}

We have a bit of a celebrity wedding today, lovelies! You may have already seen lovely SABC news anchor Vabakshnee Chetty’s wedding to hubby Geoffrey Miller on Top Billing, but I couldn’t resist sharing their beautiful pastel celebration with you again here. I’ve seen lots of pastel weddings over the years, but I absolutely love how this one manages to be incredibly elegant and opulent as well as sweet and romantic, and the pastel palette is just part of that – like a box of Ladurée macarons or a froth of blush or baby blue on the Oscars red carpet. Vee, as her friends call her, looked absolutely gorgeous in not just one but two amazing dresses, and after a lakeside meal complete with soft white drapes and sparkling crystal chandeliers, the couple and their guests danced the night away with her in the second, intricate lace creation. Warren Williams captured all the fun, frolicks and finery, as only he can.

Real Wedding at Val de Vie Estate {Lee & Garth}

You know what one of my favourite things about being a South African in London is? It’s that when I say “ja”, people think I’m posh. Because actual posh people say ja here (or, actually, yah, but it sounds the same to a Londoner apparently). I mean, you can be from the back of beyond in SA, and you can make an impression in one of the most class-driven nations in the world. That’s hilarious. The reason I bring it up, though, is that today’s wedding takes place on a polo estate, so we are totes talking like Made in Chelsea, yah? OhEmGee, and wait till you see the gorgeous grounds of Val de Vie, which I have been dying to showcase since, like, forever. I love that they offer the unique twist of a polo display to a wedding. Definitely more Kate Middleton’s wardrobe (classy and fabulous) than Harry’s night in Vegas (awkward). And I think Kate would be proud of today’s bride, who’s as graceful and beautiful in her stunning dress and headpiece as any princess. She and husband Garth enjoyed the culmination to their own fairytale romance, and Warren Williams was there to take lovely pictures on the day.Read More

Wedding Video: Kate & Christian

I promised you more of today’s lovely wedding, and here it is! Kate and Christian’s fabulous brunch wedding at La Colombe, Constantia Uitsig was filmed by the awesome Storyboard Productions – I just love the sweet, upbeat tone of the whole film, and that scrumptious morning light! It’s almost enough to drag more brides out of bed for a morning start, isn’t it?

Real Wedding at Constantia Uitsig {Kate & Christian}

Wakey wakey, SouthBound Brides! I have a lovely wedding for you this morning, and it was a lovely morning for this wedding! A few weeks back, I ran a story about brunch weddings (only one of my most popular, so I guess this is an idea that’s gathering speed) and bride Kate contacted me to tell me about hers. She and her husband, Christian, decided on an autumn champagne brunch at La Colombe, Constantia Uitsig, so they could dash off on their honeymoon afterwards, and chose a neutral, slightly vintage palette. The gents wore morning suits and all the ladies at the wedding were asked to wear hats and fascinators (I just love this!). The result is classically beautiful wedding that really captures Cape Town’s autumnal charm (although lucky for Kate and Christian, they just missed the Cape Town rains!). Warren Williams was there to take the pictures, and as always has done an awesome job in capturing the spirit of the day – I love the fashion editorialey style of these shots. And here’s the even better news – come back in an hour and I’ll have a lovely bit of video from this wedding to show you too!Read More

Real Wedding at Die Strandloper {Nadine & Philip}

There’s a part of me that is all Tiffany’s girl. Give me a martini (vodka, extra dry extra cold with a twist, cheers), a pair of Badgleys and a rooftop bar in Manhattan and I’m a happy woman. But I grew up on the coast, and there’s another big part of me that is all barefoot, shell necklaced and freckle nosed. That wants nothing more than salt on my lips and the beat of the surf in my ears. That’s one of the reasons why I’m so in love with beach venues, and the more rustic, the better. Today’s is about as laid-back seaside as you get – the awesome Strandloper restaurant in Langebaan, where you can rock up, pay your cover and enjoy a long session of fresh and delicious seafood right on the beach. (I am seriously salivating right now just thinking about it!) Nadine and Philip chose it as their wedding venue, and the result was a super relaxed day with family and friends that I am completely smitten over. Their details are just subtle enough to enhance the venue, never competing with it, and allowing all of their guests to get into the beachy groove. As usual, Warren Williams‘ pictures really bring the celebrations to life. Doesn’t it just look like so much fun? I want to be there. Now.Read More
