What’s Your Bridal Style?

Time for some styling inspiration! Earlier this year, Ted Baker launched the latest installment in his fabulous Tie the Knot collection, which is such a gorgeous range of high street wedding gowns (plus accessories and bridesmaid dresses). And while some of my favourite gowns were only available in store, last month they moved to online availability too, which is brilliant news for those of us who live out of the UK or can’t make it to a Ted Baker store in person! The five new SS18 dresses really caught my imagination – each one has a personality all its own! I immediately started picturing the kind of wedding they would be perfect for, and I’ve created a styling scrapbook for each one. Let’s get inspired!

The Romantic Bride: ZOALLE

Considering my current obsession with floral dresses, it’s really no surprise that I LOVE Zoalle, a plunge neck silk maxi with a soft floral print (if you don’t want to go with that super deep V, there’s also a detachable modesty panel at the bust). I immediately picture this at a spring or summer wedding filled with soft blooms, watercolour prints, and fine art wedding detailing. The gorgeous Florista Modernista invitation from Minted is a perfect match for this style, which I’ve combined here with a handpainted cake, silk bridesmaid gowns with flutter sleeves, a draped floral ceremony arch, and of course lots of beautiful flowers! Pretty much obsessed with this romantic look, don’t you agree?

The Destination Bride: SILVYA

Isn’t Silvya the most beautiful gown? I love the way that this gown has a simple, elegant round neck sleeveless bodice and then an ethereal, floral embroidered skirt and train! It really leaves an impression. I immediately thought of destination weddings and, while I can see Silvya floating across the sand at a beach wedding, where I could really see her at home is a destination getaway wedding to somewhere like Italy or France. Combined with gorgeous greenery and elegantly casual table decor in shades of dusty blue, grey, and taupe with a touch of gold, this really adds up to a dream wedding!

The Glam Luxe Bride: NABILA

Glamazon brides: your dress is here! Nabila is the perfect choice for a luxe bride, one who’s chic and sophisticated, and not afraid of a little bling! With a crystal embellished V at the front and an absolutely stunning crystal back strap, it matches perfectly with a wedding that’s extra in all the right places! Think crystal chandeliers, mountains of flowers, sparkly bridesmaids, designer shoes, and touches of marble and gold.

The City Chic Bride: DELILLY

Delilly really is the perfect dress for a city bride! Elegant minimalism from the front, statement bow at the back with a waterfall cascade to the floor. Super stylish and super flattering. I’ve paired it with a dark and moody urban palette in shades of pewter, marsala red, black, gold, and deep emerald green. Be sure to balance industrial elements like Edison bulbs with more romantic ones, like soft blooms and candlelight, and choose elegantly minimalist stationery. What to serve instead of traditional cake? How about glittery gold donuts? Now that’s a feature that will have your guests talking!

The Bohemian Bride: GELDA

Finally, meet gorgeous Gelda. I actually think this gown could work for so many wedding styles, from an organic garden wedding, to something a bit more glam, and destination weddings too. But today I’ve chosen to pair it with a desert bohemian style which is super on-trend. The swirling knife pleats are a free-spirited element for a boho bride, and the embellished bodice is a perfect match for the boho glam look I know you love. I love this paired with Minted’s Never Ending invitation suite, boho florals like proteas, pampas grass, and succulents, lace bridesmaid dresses, and a delicate boho bridal hairpiece.
