When it comes to beach weddings, there are so many gorgeous options for a bride-to-be, but what about her best girls? As you know, we love a bit of bridesmaid fashion here on SBB, especially when it involves fashionable looks that ladies can wear again after the big day. And while there are many, many ways you can go for a beach do, depending on your colour scheme, location and vibe, I’ve rounded up 10 of my absolute favourites, complete with shop-tions so you can get the look yourself!

Beach Wedding Escort Card Ideas
Escort Place Cards Calligraphy on Mussel Shells by Greyberry Design (Image: Beauty Mark Events)
You guys know already how much I love my escort cards and place cards as a wedding detail. Yes, they’re a little indulgent, but they’re such a good opportunity to show a little creativity and delight your guests with a nod to your theme or story! That’s especially true for a beach wedding, where there are just LOADS of ideas out there, each prettier than the last. And sure, you can DIY a lot of them, but who has the time? Especially when the talented folks at Etsy have gone next level with their beach escort ideas. Just look at these 15 fabulous options and tell me you’re not convinced!

20 Beach Ceremony Setups
I don’t know about you, but when I picture a beach wedding, the first thing that comes to mind is the ceremony. Having your feet in the sand and the ocean behind you is just the most romantic way to exchange vows, isn’t it? Well, the talented wedding pros of the world have found a way to make that picture even prettier and more romantic, and we’ve rounded up 20 of our absolute favourite ceremony style ideas for a beach wedding, each dreamier than the last. If this doesn’t convince you to head for the beach for your big day, nothing will! :)
Inspiration Board: Seaglass & Foam
When it comes to beach weddings, some colour schemes pop up over and over again – usually variations on the ocean colours of blue and green. Nothing wrong with that – I’m always a big fan of everything in the blue-grey spectrum! But you don’t need to limit yourself if you’re yearning for a coastal celebration but attracted to some of the other colours of the rainbow. Today I thought I would bring together a soft seaglass green with pale lavender and a touch of peachy blush, and I have to tell you, I love it! What do you think? Dreamy Desert Wedding Inspiration
I’m baaaaack! So you guys, thanks for your patience over the last month as SBB took a bit of a back seat while I did some jetsetting and girlboss business hustlin’ through the last month. As promised, I am all yours again, and I am all fired up with the fabulous inspiration for April that I have to share! We’re going to be carrying on with our beach theme because I didn’t get to share everything I had lined up (and I love beach weddings waaaay too much to miss out), as well as some other beauties of the non-beach variety. Today we’re heading for the dunes with the dreamiest styled shoot that I have been dying to debut from our friends at Thunder & Love. They had always dreamed of shooting in the dunes at Atlantis in the Western Cape, inspired by the desert colours, the simple lines, the wind, and the purity of the surroundings. To make this vision ‘un sogno nel deserto’ (a dream of the desert) come to life, they gathered a team of talented creatives, including stylists Happinest Weddings, to make some wedding magic happen. I simply ADORE the sheer gowns by Brit & Bride, the use of banksia and other proteas (southbound swoon!), the romantic stationery by Oh Yay and the bride’s look courtesy of Makeup by Almari, and it definitely has me dreaming of sandswept nuptials and desert sunsets.
Invitations for Every Wedding Style
When it comes to wedding planning, I’m a big fan of choosing a style that best reflects you and your husband- or wife-to-be before making any big decisions (see my step-by-step guide to figuring out your wedding style & colours). From venue to decor to attire, that style weaves its way through your whole day, right down to the smaller details like stationery. Smaller but definitely no less important! A good suite of paper can really bring everything together, which is another reason why its so important you pick the right one. Today I’m super stoked to introduce you to the new collection from Wedding Paper Divas. This clever invitation brand has a user friendly site that allows you to search by style, theme and colour and more, as well as plenty of cool matching details from coasters to address labels. But I especially LOVE that Wedding Paper Divas does a free sample kit option, because there’s just nothing quite like holding the actual paper in your hand to confirm you’ve made the right decision. Here are a few of my favourites from the collection, as well as all the info you need to get those samples!
7 Reasons to Have a Destination Beach Wedding (and Exciting News!)
Friends, hello! I know I have been a bit scarce on SBB in March, but it has been a crazy, crazy (seriously, crazy) month and I’m also in the middle of travelling at the moment. I promise that as soon as I’m back in SA we’ll be returning to normal. But in the meantime, I get to share some of the tropical love (appropriate, since I’m heading to Cuba today!), as well as some exciting news! Aisle Society is thrilled to announce we have partnered with Abaco Beach Resort to offer you Aisle Society Weddings. These carefully curated weddings were specially designed for Abaco (a fabulous little gem in the Bahamas) by some of the world’s top wedding editors, and offer an authentically Bahamian vibe and some of the most gorgeous tropical design details. I’m going to be sharing a peek at what Aisle Society Weddings have to offer, alongside my top 7 reasons why a destination beach wedding is basically the best thing ever.
Glam Beach Wedding Inspiration
Hello lovelies! If you’re a glam bride or groom and you’re thinking that a beach celebration has to have a more rustic, shabby chic vibe then think again, because a beach can be every bit as glamorous as a ballroom. Look no further than this gorgeous shoot by The Artistry, As Sweet As Images, Tickled Pink Weddings & Events and their team to show you why – I’ve been dying to share this inspiration with you for a while, and our beach month is the perfect moment! I love that this has a sort of exclusive beach club vibe, with champagne, oysters and a little cabana breakout area with curtains fluttering in the sea breeze. Pure white with touches of dusty blue and tropical pink makes for the perfect palette, and I love the little details like the oyster place card setup, the starfish motif, and the calligraphy-style stationery elements. Let’s pour an imaginary glass of that champers and dive right in!
Top Tips for Beach Weddings

Hello friends! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, so my apologies for being so scarce on SBB. I’ve been working on a Kickstarter campaign for Aisle Society that is just seven days away from deadline and wow – what an experience! I’d love it if you all would check it out and consider supporting us (even $1 is very much appreciated!). But meanwhile, I’ve been dying to bring you the beachy inspiration I have lined up, especially since I’m heading for the Caribbean tomorrow for the Aisle Society retreat! So beach is very much on my mind ;) Beach weddings, I have to tell you, are a huge favourite of mine – although I’ve yet to actually attend one in person, *sad face*. I just adore the whole feet in the sand, relaxed but elegant vibe. But while planning a beach wedding IS fun, it does have challenges that other weddings do not. There’s a lot to think about to ensure everything goes off smoothly, so here are SBB’ top tips for the perfect beach wedding.
