No ways you guys. It was bad enough that it was September, like, YESTERDAY, but now it’s already halfway through? Oh, I give up. I may as well start on the Christmas carols. Anyway, before I start going on about time rushing by, it’s worth taking a moment to look back at the week that was and all the beautiful inspiration that was to be found there! Here’s my roundup…

SouthBound Sundays {8 September 2013}
Hello lovelies! It has been far too long! Did you miss me? Of course you didn’t. You probably didn’t even notice I was gone, with all the posts I managed to line up in my absence (quite proud of that, I must say!). In the last six weeks I’ve packed up my house in London, spent three weeks on a vineyard in Tuscany, two glorious days in Rome, said goodbye (for now) to London friends, had a week in Abu Dhabi and finally come to rest for a while in Durbs, with my family. Whew! I’ll tell you all more about my travels at a later stage, but for now, let’s just say I’m glad to be back on the blog and ready to tackle three awesome new projects I have lined up for my time here. Can’t wait! And there is so much loveliness coming your way. Just sayin’. Anyway, for now, I have braved the crapness of South African internet and brought you my favourite finds from the week that was.

Oh glorious British summer! Sorry South Africans, but today I am 100% enjoying the sunshine. I made a cheeky trip up to Carnoustie in Scotland to attend my friend Nikki’s summer party last night, so as I write this, I’m sitting in the sunshine (sore head ‘n all), sipping a Pimms and watching Andy Murray (hopefully) win Wimbledon. If it happens, there’s going to be a lot of excitement up here! Anyway, I won’t stay long, but I wanted to stop by and share with you my favourite pins and finds of the week.

Heya SouthBound brideys – how has your weekend been? Everything in Gabyland is AWESOME, because the sun is out and everyone in London has a smile on their face. Seriously, it just takes a few days of sunshine to feel the mood lift here, and we even pulled off our first braai of the year last night (English housemates: chicken and burgers; South African housemate: glorious steak – once a Saffa, always a Saffa! ;) ). Today I’m off to spend time with two of my favourite girls – there MAY be some wine involved. ;)

Hello friends! I haven’t had time to do one of these in a while, but now that The Editorial Wedding is over, things have calmed down a little and it’s been good to catch up with what’s going on in wedding world. I also gave myself the day off, and spent a sunny London Sunday walking along the Thames (along with the rest of the city, apparently!) and checking out the Lichtenstein exhibit at the Tate Modern. You guys, Roy Lichtenstein is like my FAVE. I actually can’t tell you how excited I was to go to this exhibit, and it was awesome to have one of those London moments where you remember how lucky you are to be in one of the world’s great cities and able to see some amazing things. Here’s hoping the next time I visit some of Uncle Roy’s paintings they are back at MOMA – it has been way too long since I’ve been in New York!
Anyway, here’s my favourites from the week that was…

Happy Sunday friends! And Happy St. Patrick’s Day (especially to my lovely Irish housemate, Kelly). I’ve always been a big fan of St. Pat’s, ever since my Catholic school in Joburg used to do a big sweets and cakes day and it was the one day you could make an exception to your Lenten resolutions. Which I guess means I should spend all day reading tabloids and watching reality TV, since that’s what I gave up this year, except that I haven’t missed them at all. Instead I’m curled up on the couch watching vintage cop shows, listening to the rain outside and cooking up a bumper crop of inspiration boards for you lovely lot. It’s been a super busy week making plans for our Editorial Wedding workshop at London’s Cannizaro House (UK photogs, if you haven’t yet signed up, do soon – we have so much knowledge to share and you guys the styled shoot is going to be AMAZING – more on that this week), but then I do like to be busy!

Happy weekend my lovely friends – hope you’ve been having a good one? It’s been curling up inside weather again here in London, so I’ve been feasting on comfort food like homemade bangers and mash with lashings of gravy, sipping on some New Zealand sauv blanc and hibernating with some films. This evening I’m off to a fab engagement party – always lovely to toast a new couple at the start of their wedding journey! Whatever you’ve been doing, hope it’s been a good one!

Happy Sunday friends! What have you got up to? Yesterday I ventured out to East London (I hate East London, I feel like everyone who walks past is cooler than me) for the London Wedding Emporium, a brand new wedding fair. My friend Louise of b.loved was exhibiting her awesome styling services in the prettiest stand imaginable, so I got to help out a bit and see some other wedding friends and services. It’s only a few pounds entrance, so definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area today! After that I spent the evening eating yummy salmon and polishing off a bottle of red with my friend Jodi, but today I plan to spend curled up with my laptop and a hot cup of something – it’s cold out there!

Hello my lovelies, how has your weekend been? I’ve spent most of it in bed, under a mountain of tissues. I hate being sick. Meh, but at least I’ve taken the time to catch up on phone chats with some of my very favourite people at home, and hear all their news. Which is just as well, as my TV viewing options have been seriously limited since I decided to give up all forms of reality TV for Lent. Seriously, do you even know how much of what’s on TV is reality TV? From a rough survey of this weekend, I would say about 80%. That’s insane. I’ve also been working on some lovely features for next week, and a special little side project that I can’t wait to launch – not long now! ;)

SouthBound Sundays {10 Feb 2013}
Hello my dear friends – how has your weekend been? I’ve had a lovely one. On Friday one of my bestest friends came over for sushi and way too much red wine, and we caught up and put the world to rights. On Saturday it was off to Oxford for lunch with more lovely friends – this time a group of ex-colleagues who have become dear friends and their husbands and children. So much fun! As for today, I’m spending it in bed, having been woken up in the middle of the night by a random drunk guy who broke into our porch – I eventually went to investigate some strange noises and found someone sticking their hand through our letterbox! Thank goodness I have a male housemate, who was very quickly shouted for and sorted it out. And the saga of the teenagers next door continues… Anyway, I’ve been pinning all kinds of loveliness from around the web, so here’s our little roundup!
